October 1, 2008. We'd like to hear about your impressions of
Michael Esch, Mary Sherry and Jerry Willenburg. What are your
reactions to the Mayor's "one life to live" speech?

Below is, verbatim, the response we received from current City
Council member Dan Gustafson, to our invitation to participate
in a candidate forum:
Mr. Narum
After careful consideration of your request to interview me for your
candidates forum, I must respectfully decline for various reasons. I believe
our philosophical beliefs are so far apart the it would be a waste of all of our
valuable time. I will not be seeking nor would I accept the endorsement of
Positive Change for Burnsville.
Dan Gustafson
Burnsville City Council
So much for his willingness to listen to Burnsville's citizenry.
Here is our question: Since our group is in favor of
transparency in government, accountability, fiscal responsibility
and respect for citizens, and Mr. Gustafson's "philosophical
beliefs" are so far apart from ours, what exactly DOES he stand
for?
Also of note: We extended an invitation to Liz Workman, who is
running for a Dakota County Commissioner seat, to meet with
us. She did not respond to voicemails left at her home or
business. So much for responsive government. I wonder if
she'll take calls from the residents of Burnsville if she is
ensconced in an office at the Dakota County Government
Center? Keep this in mind when you cast a vote for County
Commissioner on November 4.
